However, the top honour of Best Picture went to <!-- -->Anora<!-- --> in a surprise win.<br \/>Wicked and Conclave, which entered the night tied with 11 nominations each, claimed victories in Best Director for Jon M. Chu, as well as Best Costume Design and Best Production Design, while <!-- -->Conclave<!-- --> won Best Ensemble and Peter Straughan\u2019s picked up the award for Original Screenplay.<br \/>Neon\u2019s Anora, which had seven nominations including Best Actress for Mikey Madison and Best Director and Original Screenplay for Sean Baker, ultimately took home only one award\u2014the coveted Best Picture prize. The Critics Choice Awards, hosted by Chelsea Handler for the third consecutive year, have traditionally served as a strong predictor for the Oscars. Last year\u2019s Best Picture winner at the Critics Choice Awards, Oppenheimer, went on to win the Academy Award for Best Picture, raising anticipation for Anora&#8217;s Oscar prospects.<br \/>Emilia Perez, which started the evening with 10 nominations, also won three awards, including Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Salda\u00f1a, solidifying her as a frontrunner in the Oscars race. The film also secured Best Foreign Language Film and Best Song (El Mal performed by Saldana, Karla Sof\u00eda Gascon, and Camille). Gasc\u00f3n, nominated for Best Actress, did not attend the event amid controversy over past social media posts.<br \/>In the acting categories, the Critics Choice Awards followed expected trends. Demi Moore won Best Actress for The Substance, Adrien Brody took home Best Actor for The Brutalist, Zoe Saldana earned Best Supporting Actress for Emilia Perez, and Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain.<br \/>A Real Pain also won Best Comedy Film, tying with Disney\/Marvel\u2019s Deadpool &amp; Wolverine. <br \/>Other double winners included Amazon MGM\u2019s Challengers, which picked up awards for Best Score and Best Editing.<br \/>On the television side, Sh\u014dgun emerged as the top winner with four awards, including Best Drama Series and Best Actor in a Drama Series for Hiroyuki Sanada.
